Akismet SPAM-Blocking Plugin Introduces Statistics!

If you thought Akismet couldn’t get any better, it just did! In its most recent release, it introduced detailed comment and spam statistics.

For those of you who do not know, Akismet is a popular WordPress plugin, now available for other CMS systems. Akismet helps to automatically remove unwanted spam comments, and comes pre-packaged with all WordPress installations.

And the new statistics features have many detailed statistics which help analyze and track the amount of spam received and the effectiveness of Akismet in flagging spam. We’ve shown one of the graphs below, but the package contains several graphs and charts for analysis.

To take advantage of these features, you will need to upgrade to the latest version. Akismet for WordPress can be downloaded from the WordPress.org Akismet plugin page. For other software packages, consult the Akismet website. And if you are running WordPress version 2.5 of greater, you can upgrade by simply selecting the upgrade button on the Plugins page in your WordPress admin area.
