A frequently asked question among avid bloggers is "When is the best time of day to publish a new entry on a blog?". In fact, if you do a quick search on the internet, you will find all sorts of answers to this question.

Some bloggers do not notice any significant difference and feel that new content can be posted whenever it is available. Other bloggers feel that time does matter. And one blog even specifies both a time and a day.

Thursday At Noon?

I Beg To Differ

There are definitely hot times to post. "Hot Times" are basically those times when it is more likely that readers will be surfing the web. And this translates into greater potential for increased readership and post popularity on social bookmarking websites.

However, not all blogs target a general mainstream audience. This means that it might not be beneficial to post during these hot times. Instead, content should be published at a convenient time for its readers.

To determine the time that you should post your content, it might be helpful to consider the following:

• Time zone of your readers. New content should be published and waiting for readers before they visit.
• Nature of the post. If it is time-sensitive, then it should be posted immediately, regardless of the time.
• Website statistics. Take a look at your website statistics to determine when your readers visit.
