If you are like most businesses, you probably include contact information and your store’s address on your website. Assuming that your store is on a well-known street, your visitors will probably be able to find you quite easily. However, if your store is in a remote location or if a visitor is not familiar with the area, then they might decide not to visit because they don’t know where to find you, and don’t want to get lost trying. One easy solution to this problem is to add a map (or explicit directions to your store).
Adding a map is very simple and free when you use tools such as Google Maps. A sample map is included below which shows a popular little park nestled between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges in Dumbo, one of New York’s fastest growing neighborhoods.
To add this map to your website, all your need is (1) a little knowledge of HTML and (2) a way of editing and updating the HTML for your website. If you have those, then follow these simple instructions:
And that’s it!
Adding a map to your website is easy, so there’s no excuse not to include one. So if you display an address on your website be sure that you also have a map. Need help adding it to your website, let us know.
