Looking for a WordPress Plugin?

WordPressThe best thing about WordPress software, in addition to its impressive feature set and dedicated developers, is that it has a plugin API. The WordPress Plugin API makes it easy for plugin authors, like ourselves, to create all sorts of additional features for WordPress. And the WordPress Plugin Directory makes it easy to distribute these to the community.

And while it may seem like just about every kind of plugin has been developed, we do have the need to make our own from time to time. Recently, for example, we launched the Update URLs plugin. And we are currently working on a plugin which creates a splash page that visitors to a website will see only on their initial entry.

And its likely that you too may have wished for some unique functionality that wasn’t already out there. So…

Send Us Your Plugin Ideas. We’ll Develop Them!

We like developing plugins, so if you have any ideas for plugins that aren’t already created, let us know. Submit your plugin ideas by commenting on this post. And we will develop the ones that we think many people would like to use. We’ll also develop extremely unique plugins. (All developed plugins will be released to the community under the GPL license.)

Before posting, be sure to check the WordPress Plugin Directory to make sure that your idea hasn’t already been developed.

    Hi u

Thanks for your Update URLs plugin. It helps me so much. But I have another problem with the custom fields in each post. Could you develop a Update Custom fields plugin, it can search and replace any value ? That would be nice.

    Thank you

I suggest a plugin that lists ‘specific user comment list’ and no-one elses. The usefulness is in being able to see what posts I have participated in with a comment over the past. Sometimes, I want to go back to that comment and see if any further thoughts have been added by others, or I may want to see an archive of my comment activity on a site.

To display such a list, I would propose an unordered list in date order, showing a clickable post title and the first ‘x’ words of the each comment. If more than one comment exists by a user, it is added under the post title. This list would need to be paged at ‘x’ comments.

To identify a user, so as to lsit his/her comments, we use either a logged in user ID to query comments under his username/ email combination, or retrieve a cookie to identify comments from the user IP.

Seeing comments are always public, we might also build a comment list by allowing users to query comments by username through a form. Thus allowing other user comments to be displayed also.

These lists are generated dynamically and exist only for the user.

    Thanks for your consideration

I often get offline comments from friends and when I ask them to comment on the site, they say it never occurs to them. Some of the things they say to me offline about my posts are quite funny or interesting. I’d love to have a plugin that would let insert comments in the posts and let me specify the name, email, url, etc. as well.

    What do you think?

Any SEO plugin that would be able to automatically connect with Google Tools would be worth it’s weight in gold! :)
