Next Google PageRank Update

It’s about that time again! In the next month or so, we will likely have another Google PageRank update. But until it happens, we are most likely all pulling our hair out waiting and frantically scrambling to turn our websites into high quality search engine food and link-bait.

According to many SEO professionals and Google watchers, it is likely that we will see an update in December. Updates generally occur once ever three months, and our last update was back in September. But until then, we still have time to increase our pagerank.

How To Increase Pagerank. There’s Still Time!

Believe it or not, there are no special tricks needed to increase your Google pagerank. In fact, all that you have to do is get inbound links from quality websites. Simple? Not really. Building links takes time and effort. But here are some tips. If done right, you will likely be able to increase your pagerank in time for the next update.

  1. Submit your website to web directories. This is a great way to get noticed and get links.
  2. Ask fellow webmasters to link to your website. Often it is hard to convince webmasters to link to you, so you might have to swap links or provide some other incentive.
  3. Write quality content. If your content is good enough, people WILL link to you. We find that people link to our articles all the time. To get more people to see your content, try submitting an article or two to Digg.
  4. Consider article marketing. Article marketing is when you submit articles to huge article databases along with a blurb about your website and a link. Whenever anyone publishes your article on their website, they also have to keep your blurb and link intact, thus giving you an inbound link. This can be a very successful tactic.

And here are some things that you shouldn’t do when acquiring links:

  1. DON’T BUY LINKS.
  2. Don’t link to poor quality valueless or spam websites.
  3. Beware of reciprocal linking circles.

So, while you still have time, increase your inbound links and hopefully you can raise your effective PR by the time we see the next Google update.
