About a month ago, Uber.com, a website that enabled users to create free websites, blogs, photo gallieries, and slideshows, announced that it had fallen victim to the changes in the economy and it would be shutting down. But within days, Uber had received some financing and told the community that it would be able to stay live for at least another month. But sadly, Uber wasn’t able to fulfill that last promise…

We recently checked on Uber at the end of last week, and also took at their website today, and it appears that they are officially down. In fact, when you navigate to their website, you will simply find a blank white page—not even a notice telling you that they are no more. And apparently, the Uber.com website has been in this state for a few days now.

For people who used their service, we hope that you were able to retrieve and salvage your data. Additionally, we recommend hosting your own blogs and websites in the future. Yes, it will require more work, and perhaps, additional expense, but you will always maintain full access to all data and files.
