Web Design Principles Change With Time

We all remember the early days of the internet. This was a time when going online was still a novel thing. And websites were used mainly as a tool for distributing information, with little thought given to design. This was when reference, educational, and government websites reigned supreme.

Since then, however, the internet has grown up. We’ve witnessed enormous growth and change both in terms of the number of people who use it, and the variety of ways in which it is being used. Today, for example, the internet is now something that most people cannot imagine living without. It enables web surfers to network, shop, build businesses, do research, pay bills, and more!

And with these sweeping changes in functionality, there have also been equally large changes in design principles. Gone are the tacky web pages that lacked color and personality. And in more recent years, we have also seen the rise and fall of unprofessional websites with animated images and unnaturally bright colors. And nowadays, for example, we celebrate websites that are simple and minimalist.
